Canyonlands National Park

Wow!

Moab, UT is the home to a couple National Parks in the NPS. Arches National Park is a spectacle. With Arches and Windows set in magnificent Mars like settings, Arches N.P. will take you to another place. How does balance rock sit like that?

Roads curve and wind through the parks. Getting around here is very easy. There are plenty of places to stop, take a photo, stretch your legs, and learn a little more about this great country.

Maybe some of the most dramatic and awe inspiring sights you'll ever see is in the heart of Canyonlands National Park. As you look over the canyons that run thousands of feet below, you'll feel small in this big world.

The Green River Overlook is amazing. Not only are you high over the great desert plain, but again, the Green Valley River carves another section of earth from its waters, creating a canyon within a canyon, all for us to look at with absolute wonder.

So Much To See..!

Moab will bring out the Daredevil in you..!

With 4x4 trails leading through the Canyonlands, exploring is easy! Although you may only travel less than 20 miles in a day, you'll feel like you went a thousand. These Canyons engulf you. Traveling out of Canyonlands National Park, a dirt trails caresses the cliff walls at it traverses tightly down. Skilled driving is suggested, its required. This trail will scare you and reward you at the same time.

Natural vegetation, plants and flowers are found by the luck. Not much lives here, the days are hot - the nights are cold! Water is scarce, unless you manage to get up and over the canyons to the rivers edge or find a small trickle from the rock side after a fresh, yet rare rain.

The Natives lived here, leaving their marks on some of the rocks in the Parks. The most famous, 'Newspaper Rock' shares a recording of the lives of these people, demonstrating the importance of communication even at an early point in history.

But how they survived here is another story...

Pick a Direction!

You can't go wrong in Moab, Utah... You just have to go...

On the West, you can dip your toes in the frigid waters of a mountain Lake as you pass the Aspens in the LaSalle Mountains.

Drive down the Colorado River and the deep canyon that morphs you.

Head into Arches National Park for a day of amazement as you'll see the wonders of erosion turning the earth into art.

Head down Kane Creek Canyon, wandering through the switchback and into the hills that lead up and over Hurrah Pass. Down some more and you'll find Dripping Springs, right out of a science fiction novel with small carved caves and tunnels.

Find the watering hole. When you do, you'll have hours of funs as two natural pools with meandering creek offers a splash in the waters. You can even jump off a series of rock into a shallow area, sporting a backflip for the onlookers.

The town of Moab has great Southwestern Shopping and Dining. Get some good food here. The Car washes are always full of dirty vehicles after their day of fun on the trails, and you too will remember as for weeks after your trip, you'll continue to find red dirt in crevasses you didn't know you had.
