Oasis Restaurant on Lake Travis, TX - A Sight to Behold..!

- On Top of the World..!

At least thats what it feels like overlooking Lake Travis from the open air patios and terraces of the Oasis Restaurant outside of Austin, TX.

The air was hot and moist, the waters below - warm. Visiting this area for the first time as a guest to my cousin's wedding, I was able to explore the Texas Hills that make up the neighboring landscape.

The Oasis on Lake Travis is a Restaurant that's famous around here, historically serving its' visitors with food, entertainment, special culinary treats, and one of Austin's most desired venues to 'Tie the Knot'.

You can't help but to notice the views as you arrive - given, I mean look at 'em... but it was the Oasis' property itself and details of it's construction, inviting warmth, and unique appeal that added to this already great restaurant & cantina.

Suffering a devastating fire in the past, the owners were able to restart and rebuild a new Oasis to create a dynamic food & fun experience in an unforgettable setting.

The terraces are level upon level, each coated with colored umbrellas to shade from the day's hot sun, and each with dynamic views of the green hills, amazing homes, and lakeside shorelines that slopes down to Lake Travis below.

The live music bustles through the air as the clink of the Margarita glasses and murmurs of laughter carry with the summer wind. The local birds frolick among the feet of the outdoor diners, looking for that pebble of sandwich to slip of any plate and find its way down for a midday snack.

The architecture, with its stone arched entrance, hand laid stone walls and flower gardens welcome newcomers. Walking slowly and taking in the sights seemed to be the standard as people arrived, absorbing any number of custom statues and art displays that live here.

Follow your ears to that music and you're all good to go..!

The Indian Chief points to sky, praising his spirit leaders who have provided him with the opportunity to benefit from what his land has to offer, and you could see how this land could be attractive throughout history for native cultures, it's still attractive today..

Bronze Works are a popular addition to the Oasis Restaurant. Spectacular one of a kind displays line the walkways and dot the property, mixed in amongst the green plant life and dazzling array of colorful flowers. Stone paths meander through sitting areas complete with fire pits and natural wood furniture.

A bronze statue of a Boy and his Horse stands proud up front and center. A bald eagle dances near the reservation stand, as as well know version of 'See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil' is told in a larger than life bronze creation of three monkeys sitting on a bench in the front garden.

Beautiful paintings, Photography, and a variety of Art is all around the Oasis on Lake Travis.

Take a moment and step up the stone staircases that lead higher, with even better views.

Sip on a cold drink in your hand as you learn a little about the Oasis history and work up an appetite for any number of Tex-Mex and Southwestern menu options on an American Menu with flare..!

The Bride looks stunning..! Why not get married at a stunning venue? Y'know with views that kill - A location to remember... Food, Drink, Dancing... fun..?

Yeah, that's why the Oasis on Lake Travis has been the choice of Elite Wedding couples for years. Here, you can say your vows while overlooking the clear waters of Lake Travis at the same time command a Texas Sunset to fall right behind you as you seal it with a kiss..!

With private rooms, dance floors, catering, and a sure way to have a wedding to remember, the Oasis is set up for it all. From DJs to Photographers and things you couldn't think of - weddings seem to be quite the thing in these parts.

The Oasis can be extremely formal to down right casual...

Grab your tux or grab your Hawaiian shirt, but either way, head on out to the Oasis for a satisfying meal and a mixed concoction after a hard day of water skiing, fishing, boating, or just jumping in the waters of the lake below, and then top it all off by saying, "I do..!"

Sailboats caught the gentle lake winds as they drifted across the surface, looking yonder toward the day's end. The motorboats leave the 'V' like wakes behind them, heading back to their home marina after a full day of gliding on the lake's surface..

Tonight, here at the Oasis, the Sun gave us a show. In fact, we made an agreement - the Sun and I - to go down in slow motion... and It did...

It dipped over the darkening hills beyond the far shores, ever slow and tedious, displaying the power of pastel as I watched the Sun become the artist - it shaded the sky with its sunbeam brush.. hues of blue, purples, reds, pinks, and oranges...

"Thanks Sun... We'll have to do this again sometime..."

Our wedding party danced and drank and ate the night away, combining a few round tables they pulled up to the balcony railings, edged around it and nestled in, so they too could enjoy what a Texas Evening was really like..!

I doubt you're going to rush out and get married on top of Lake Travis any time soon, but if you are ever around Austin, TX or find yourself diving into the warm water of Lake Travis -make sure you add time and schedule a visit to the famous Oasis Restaurant & Cantina.
