Cheyenne Frontier Days - Best Rides
"The Grand Daddy of 'em All..!"
The Cheyenne Frontier Days is the World's Premier Rodeo on the Cowboy Circuit. "Cowboy Up" is you want to ride in this arena. The toughest Rodeo Bulls, Broncos, and Saddling Wild Horses live in these parts, and they're not gonna be an easy ride..!
All you have to do is last 8 seconds here in Cheyenne, but that's easier said than done. In just a few short hours, the hardest Rodeo rides, crashes, and spills dusted the arena giving way to "ooohs" and "ahhhs" from the delighted spectators. A few with their hands over their mouths as the horses and bulls dismount their riders in a violent effort to remain unridden.
The crowd gathers their cotton candy and covers the sun with their cowboy hats and programs. The announcer, in pure Western Cowboy style 'Yee-Hawed' the fans and got the energy to a Rodeo type level, motivating these young riders to gather the gusto to sit upon these thousand pound beasts and last the duration.
The nerves tingle, the sweat pulses, and the adrenaline rushes as the gate swings open and the thrashing begins. Rodeo is a passion, a lifestyle, an elite sport where only the brave, or the stupid partake.
Hold On... You're going for a ride...!

"Hold On..."
Rodeo Rides & Crashes
It was Great..!
In Rapid succession, these cowboys jumped out of the gates, some completing the ride in unbelievable feats of grasping strength, while most were flung from the backs, through the air in some kind of neo dance move, swinging arms, face first to the dusty earth, at the same time planning the best strategy fro escape should the wild creature decide to turn back on them. After the rodeo clowns get things all back to normal, another get flings open and a new cowboy is dancing with the bulls.
Cheyenne Rodeo
It was a complete format of rodeo competitions. Bull riding, Bronco riding, roping, steer wrestling, acrobatics, barrel racing, and horse saddling. Cheyenne Frontier Days is one of the largest Rodeos in the World. It spans nearly two weeks every summer and offers rodeo, concerts, events, fairs, Indian villages, art, crafts, food, entertainment, shopping, and so much more.
Cheyenne is the Capitol of Wyoming, just an Hour and a Half north of Denver, CO. The are proud of the rodeo that visits every year and plenty of lodging can be found in and around Cheyenne, with a historic downtown and entertainment district.
8 Seconds..?
Keep it Coming!
I don't know if it was just me, but there was something fun about watching the cowboys fly through the air like a rag doll. In any other forum I may find it otherwise, but here, with the cowboy full well knowing what they're getting themselves into to, the joy of a man in flight is somewhat satisfying..!
Cowboy Up..!
Wild Horse Ride!
Wild Horse Saddling!
Oh, Right... This sounds like a good idea...
Get a wild Horse and a team of guys who probably haven't started in their right minds to begin with, to jump in the arena and saddle up a horse who never has been broken, and then ride it around the track one time.
The first team to do this successfully is crowned the winner. Unfortunately, I don't think that every cowboy knew what the were getting themselves into here in Cheyenne...
Don't Try This at Home!
Cheyenne Frontier Days
Imagine - All This in just 2 hours of watching the Rodeo at the Cheyenne Frontier Days. It was my first visit to the competitions, and I know now, it's not my last.
There is so much to do during this big annual event. Saddle up and ride hard - Go West Young Man...!
